Media Input formats

For any of these cases: check the media requirements (accepted resolution, codec, ...)

Single video

You can upload a single video file, with both the image and the audio streams inside.

Video + 1 Audio

You can upload a single video file + 1 audio file.

Video + 6 Audio

You can upload a single video file + 6 audio files. To be correctly interpreted as a 5.1 audio set, the 6 audio files should have filenames with the same prefix and certain specific postfixes:

  • [prefix]L.wav
  • [prefix]R.wav
  • [prefix]C.wav
  • [prefix]LFE.wav
  • [prefix]Ls.wav
  • [prefix]Lr.wav

E.g. IkeaPromoAudioMixed_L.wav, IkeaPromoAudioMixed_R.wav, ...

Video + XML (DMAT)

In Belgium, there is a specific format (DMAT and the HD variant HDMAT) that is used between post-production houses and media.

It uses 1 MXF audio+video file and 1 XML metadata file.

TIFF + Audio

You can upload a series of TIFF files in a subfolder and the audio in a separate WAV file, which can be in a subfolder but doesn't have to.

Since this format will typically cause huge upload sizes, please upload it first in the _upload folder and only move it to an input-* folder when the whole upload is done.

DCP

You can upload an existing DCP. The audio will be corrected on LEQ dB, if needed, and the whole DCP will be remade with the folder name you specified.

Currently we only support 24fps DCPs.

ZIP file

Any of the formats above can also be uploaded in a ZIP file. The advantages of this are:

  • the total size will be smaller, although typically not a lot.
  • there is no thing as a 'partial' upload: for Spottix, either there is no file yet, or the whole ZIP file has been uploaded, with all its media files.
